Education

Abington Woods, managed by Patchwork Education Village, offers a rich, immersive learning environment for schools and educational groups. Whether you’re looking to incorporate outdoor learning into your curriculum or provide a unique experience for your students, our woodland space is the perfect venue for hands-on education.

Book for Your School or Class

Bring your students to Abington Woods as part of your Forest School curriculum or outdoor learning program. You can choose to run the sessions yourself, or opt for our Teacher-led sessions, which can be tailored to your specific classwork or follow one of our curriculum packages.

We offer regular, ongoing sessions that help build students’ confidence and practical skills—tools they can draw upon across the curriculum. Alternatively, book a one-off adventure session, packed with games and exploration, for an exciting and educational treat for your group.

Teacher-Led Sessions

Our Teacher-led sessions are available on a weekly or half-term basis and are designed to support both academic and personal development. These sessions provide students with valuable outdoor experiences, helping them develop skills and confidence that benefit their learning journey.

Whether you’re covering topics linked to your classroom work or exploring one of our packages; Discovering the Elements, Investigating Seasonal change or the Basics of Bushcraft, these sessions are a fun and engaging way to bring learning to life. Details are available on request.

Wildlife Studies

We welcome accompanied groups to explore and study the wildlife within our woodlands. With a diverse range of flora and fauna, Abington Woods offers a wonderful opportunity for hands-on learning about nature and ecosystems. However, we kindly ask all visitors to respect the delicate environment and avoid damaging the plant life, particularly along the riverbanks.

Home Education

Abington Woods is also a popular destination for home education groups, offering a flexible outdoor learning space that can be used for both structured sessions and self-directed exploration.
